This month I celebrate my birthday with so much joy and gratitude for all the incredible communities of people and experiences that came into my life this year. I am surrounded by the colorful mosaic of the summer in full bloom. Over the past few years I have honored the tradition of writing a letter to myself on the morning of my birthday. It is an ode to the beauty of life as I celebrate another year around the sun. It is a gift to myself-a reflection of my truths, my gratitudes, heartfelt inspirations, and self acknowledgement. The miracle of life. As the summer shines in full bloom-I use this time as an opportunity to be present with all my successes, setbacks, complexities, and inquiries. A moment to be aware and clear as I celebrate all that I am in harmony with as well as find paths to realign some of my goals. The richness of this warm season offers a perfect opportunity for us to come home to ourselves and ignite our hearts with fuel of self-determination and radiance.

Summer has always been my favorite time of the year. The special rhythm of the season-long hot days, farm stands full of local produce, endless playdates for my kids, long drives to camps, and lots of ice cream.

Pause.
Clear your mind for 30 seconds. Slow, steady breath in. Retain the breath at the top of the inhale, without gripping. Relax your face, jaw, scalp. Release a slow, steady exhale as needed. Begin again. Let it all go with your breath. Reset your body. Remember that one thing you are grateful for. Deep breath in and exhale out. Notice the shifts that happened in your body in just a few minutes. Remember you can embrace anything in your life.
